A kratom strain name comes from three things: the color of the leaf's center vein, which tracks when it was picked and how it was dried, the region where it grew, and sometimes a grade. Here's every strain in our lineup, with the lab numbers from the lot on the shelf.
Vein color
Every strain is the same plant, Mitragyna speciosa. White, green and red track how mature the leaf was at harvest. Yellow and gold are finishing styles applied to that leaf.

Our flagship green. "Super" is the trade grade for the larger, fully developed leaves. Fine and consistent from lot to lot.
Named for the Bali export route
A traditional red vein named for the historic Bali export route. Fully mature leaf with an extended dry.
Selectively graded leaf, harvested early in the maturity cycle and dried indoors to a uniform fine grind.
Fully mature, selectively graded leaf, finished with an extended dry.
The wild line: leaf from uncultivated trees rather than planted plots. We brought this wild line to the U.S. in 2017.
Premium-graded green Maeng Da: the Super grade, from the larger, fully developed leaves.

Named for the Jongkong district of West Kalimantan. Mid-maturity green in a uniform fine grind.

What's in a name
Most names stack the same three parts. Once you know them, a name like Green Hulu or Super Maeng Da tells you a lot before you open the pouch.
White, green, red, yellow or gold. Harvest stage and drying, explained above.
Where the trees grow, usually a district or river basin in Borneo or Sumatra.
Optional. Words like Maeng Da, Super or Wild describe how the leaf was selected.
Borneo
The Indonesian part of Borneo and the largest kratom-growing region.
The upper Kapuas River basin in West Kalimantan.
A small district in West Kalimantan with seasonal, limited supply.
A lower-altitude coastal region of West Kalimantan.
A historic port region of South Kalimantan.
Named for the old export route, which carried Borneo leaf.
Sumatra
The highland province at Sumatra’s northern tip.
A grade name for selectively graded leaf, and one of the two most established labels in the market.
A grade name: the larger, fully developed leaves.
A grade name for leaf from wild, uncultivated trees rather than farm-grown stands.
Same species, every strain. Names describe the leaf and the place a name points to, not a record of each lot. Every pouch holds milled Mitragyna speciosa leaf, with no extracts and no additives.
Choosing a strain
Maeng Da and Bali are the two most established labels in the market, and Super Green is the most popular strain in our lineup.
Decide on a vein color first, then narrow by region. A Hulu, a Jongkong and a Maeng Da of the same color come from different places.
Every lot has a public certificate. Look up the batch and note the mitragynine percent, the heavy metal values and the microbial results. Open the COA archive

It describes the color of the vein running down the center of the leaf, which tracks how mature the leaf was at harvest. Drying finishes the color: white leaf gets a short indoor dry, green a mix of indoor and outdoor drying, and red, which is fully mature, a longer dry that is often finished in the sun.
They are finishing styles rather than separate trees. Yellow starts as white or green leaf given an extended, controlled sun dry. Gold starts as red leaf with a short ferment before drying.
No. Every strain is the same species, Mitragyna speciosa. Strain names combine vein color, growing region and sometimes a grade.
They are grade names. Maeng Da is a selectively graded leaf. Super means only the larger, fully developed leaves from a harvest are kept at the mill. Wild means the leaf was hand harvested from wild, uncultivated rainforest trees.
When a lot sells out, the strain waits for the next harvest and its lab results. Select Notify me on the strain's product page to hear when it's back.
No. Every product is whole, milled leaf. We don't sell extracts, enhanced products or 7-OH.
