I started Hudson Valley Botanicals in Poughkeepsie in 2017 on a simple idea: a kratom vendor should tell the truth, stand behind every batch and answer for what's in the pouch. It's still just me doing all three.

Hudson Valley Botanicals starts as a one-person operation, packing pouches by hand in New York's Hudson Valley. Word spreads through online communities looking for a vendor that takes quality seriously.

Every batch goes to a lab
Each batch is tested by an independent ISO 17025 accredited lab before it ships. No exceptions, and no "we tested one last month" shortcuts. If the lab hasn't seen the batch, it doesn't leave.

The archive goes public
The certificate for every batch on the shelf is published and searchable by batch number. Older batches are archived once they sell through.

The name
Why I named it Garuda.
For generations, Mitragyna speciosa has been grown, harvested and honored by communities across Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.
Garuda is the mythical bird of Indonesian tradition, a symbol of strength, protection and the bridge between earth and sky. I named the line after it to honor the origin of every leaf, and the farmers who hand-pick it.
Working directly with families in Kalimantan, Sumatra and the Hulu Kapuas river basin means shorter supply chains, traditional harvest methods and a closer relationship with the land.

I started Hudson Valley Botanicals in 2017 after buying from vendors who hid their lab results and cut corners. I still read every lab report, sign off on every batch and read every message myself.
