Dutchess County landed on regulation rather than prohibition.
The Oneida County Board of Legislators voted unanimously on August 12, 2026 to approve the local law banning the sale and distribution of kratom county-wide, adopting the measure County Executive Anthony J.
The Orange County Legislature voted unanimously in December 2025 to bar the sale of kratom to anyone under 21, and separately adopted a resolution urging New York State to prohibit sales entirely.
Suffolk County chose regulation over prohibition.
Washington County, NY has prohibited the sale and distribution of kratom county-wide.

The Clifton Park Town Board voted on September 1, 2026 to schedule an October 6 public hearing on a town measure that would bar the sale and distribution of kratom within the town.
A local law introduced in Rensselaer County on August 20, 2026 by Legislator Bruce Patire would prohibit the sale and distribution of kratom county-wide, covering both natural leaf and synthetic products.
Saratoga County introduced its proposed countywide kratom ban on September 15, 2026 and set a public hearing for October 14, so nothing is adopted and the hearing precedes any final vote.
Ulster County legislators postponed consideration of a proposed 7-OH measure on September 3, 2026 without setting a new date, and the October 20 public hearing that was noticed should be treated as unconfirmed.
