Rich, river-fed soil along the Kapuas and Mahakam basins produces some of the most balanced and versatile leaf we work with. Our Green and Red strains lean heavily on Kalimantan partners, many of whom have supplied us since 2019.
West Sumatra · Indonesia
Higher elevation groves and a longer dry cycle produce the smooth, clean character Sumatran leaf is known for. We partner with cooperatives who replant on a rotation schedule so mature trees are always giving, never stripped.
Upper Kapuas River · West Kalimantan
The deep interior. Remote villages along the upper Kapuas tend older, wild-grown trees that produce our boldest, most distinct leaf. This is where our rare single-origin releases come from.
These aren't aspirational. Every current supplier meets every item on this list, or they don't stay current.
We pay above local market rate for leaf that meets our grade. Farmers see direct payment, not broker margins. Our longest-running partners have raised their families and rebuilt their facilities on the back of that relationship.
Leaf is hand-picked from mature Mitragyna speciosa trees in a rotation that protects the tree's long-term yield. No clear-cutting. No stripping a grove to hit a month's number. Trees that are rested produce better leaf, year after year.
Every inbound lot carries a region, village, harvest window, and drying method on the paperwork. If you look at a batch COA and ask where that leaf came from, we can answer in one sentence.
We don't rotate suppliers to chase a cent off. The families we buy from have been growing leaf for us for years, in some cases more than half a decade. Consistency comes from relationships, not spot-market shopping.
Leaf is shade-dried on covered racks, not on the ground. Handling stays food-grade end to end. Inbound lots that fail our visual inspection on arrival are rejected, not blended.
Even with everything above, no lot becomes Garuda Kratom until an independent ISO 17025 lab returns a clean COA. Every. Single. Lot.

We visit the region, meet the growers, walk the groves. A farm we've never bought from has to earn a first conversation before it ever earns a first order. We'd rather pass on a season than rush a new supplier in.
Small test lots come in first. We evaluate for leaf character, grind consistency, drying quality, and alkaloid profile. We send a full panel to the lab before we discuss a single production order.
Every production lot is re-tested by an independent ISO 17025 lab in the US. Alkaloid content, heavy metals, microbials, foreign matter. A lot that doesn't read clean gets rejected, no matter how good the sample was.
